This week to try coding by myself for the first time I attempted to make the game Flappy Fish on Code.org. I spent way more time on this website than I probably should have hahaha! I enjoyed it a lot more when I got the hang of things. I played around with a lot of the different coding options before I decided that the flappy bid was my favorite choice.
I loved how this coding program on code.org was very straightforward! Since I have never done coding before it made it easy enough for me to figure it all out! I learned how one little thing can change the whole view on how your fish or object was to move. When coding you have to be very specific on what you put in your workspace! I did watch some videos to help get me started but after that, it was a breeze! I learned that there are so many different things to add to your games such as sounds, points, obstacles, and also the speed that your animal moves. In my Flappy Fish game, my fish flaps through the water and goes through the plant obstacles with the click of the mouse. It keeps track of how many obstacles you are able to get through and once you hit one the game ends and you have to restart the game! I love how these websites can be fun for all ages since they have so many different categories to choose from! The best thing about it all is that these websites are FREE!
I think learning about coding is important because it allows the children or anybody to experiment and to test out their creativity! When looking through different websites I found one that explained eight reasons why you should teach your children to code. It also has different online courses for every age-linked on how to code.
I have posted in the picture above the link to my Flappy Fish game! If anyone is interested in trying out the game on their smartphone the website makes it possible for that to happen! Just comment your phone number and I can send you the link! How AWESOME is that?!?! I am very excited to see what coding everyone else decided to try!

Awesome job coding Reilee, you make it look so easy! I know what you mean how you can spend a lot of time working on this and playing around on the coding websites. Thanks for sharing your link to your flappy fish game!
